I personally don't think anything is going to come of all this. The terrorists want to install fear in the people and the rumours spread by the US embassy go along way to getting the ball rolling. I'm pissed that they didn't first consult with our government before releasing such a statement. Can you imagine the loss of revenue for the shops in the Sandton area over the weekend!

As far as I know at this point, the Pride event is being held in Sandton and its designed to celebrate advocacy, activism and equality in the LGBTQI community. It seems to be going ahead unless someone else knows better(?)

I can imagine the logistics behind the parade is quite intense. Not like they can just shift everything to next week.

They say avoid crowds in the heart of the economy which is Sandton. It's bad timing for the gay parade. Anyone know who is behind all this?

This weekend is supposed to be the Gay Pride Parade to be held in Johannesburg. Does anyone know if it's going ahead after the terrorist threat issued yesterday by the US Embassy? I was planning on going to watch.
