The whole story doesn't make sense anyway because what proof is there that the notes were false? So there's a fundamental floor in the argument and allegation to start with and just that alone would tell me its nonsense!

No matter how old this movie gets it still happens and as long as individuals are passing on information with clients names and numbers it will never stop. Most guys I know have got too much to loose and will give in under the pressure and pay what's asked in order to make the problem "go away".
I urge those contacted to put the phone down and forget about it. SAPS don't waste time with phone calls, they rock up with search warrants or arrest papers. I talk from experience.

@Greywolf it will never end as long as there are those who give in to there ways it will continue forever! Even when the industry is legalised there will still be those finding ingenious ways to extort money in some way, shape and form!

it happened to me as well!

I changed cell numbers, alias and even websites that I surf for such pleasures.

You information might have been leaked via a retail outlet that asked for your cell number while you were busy making a purchase.....

I don't give my cell number out to anyone or any shop cause that info gets sold and used in such instances!

The POPI Act sets out the minimum standards regarding accessing and 'processing' of any personal information belonging to another. The Act defines 'processing' as collecting, receiving, recording, organizing, retrieving, or the use, distribution or sharing of any such information.

Its about time people and companies started adhering to these rules and regulations!

I suppose everyone gets a turn and I too received my first call from an Inspector Mkize who claims he has a case against me for paying a service provide with fake notes. Honestly I wouldn't know where to begin working out where he would have got my number but it can only be a WG that buckled under pressure and gave him a list of clients numbers that have visited her! 
I put the phone down and went and got a new punter SIM from the nearest Pakistani shop, problem solved I suppose until the next lady gives my number out!
